The Dreamsoft Travel Scarf Goes To Portugal

We caught up with our Co-Founder, Jess, on her trip to Portugal.

Why Portugal?
Portugal has been on my travel bucket list for years and we happened upon inexpensive tickets and decided to just go for it.  The flights from the East Coast of the United States are under six hours each way so we were able to do an extended weekend trip that gave us 5 days of fun!

Most delicious meal or snack?
Enjoying Francesinha in Porto.  Made to fill you up for a hard day of manual labor, this traditional dish is a sandwich that needs to be eaten by fork.  Steak, sausage and ham is stuffed between bread and covered with melted cheese and a tomato sauce.    I thought it would be too heavy, but we enjoyed every bite.  We worked ours off by exploring the city by foot!

One must-do activity for anyone who makes the trip?
Wine and port tasting!  We had so much fun trying vintage ports in Vila Nova de Gaia and exploring the Duoro Valley and seeing the sloped vineyards up close!  Most of the port houses require reservations for tasting and tours, so make sure that you plan ahead to ensure availability and be prepared for exhilarating views (and car rides) in the Duoro.
