DREAM DESTINATIONS:
The Dreamsoft Travel Scarf goes to Bavaria, Germany for Oktoberfest
We caught up with co-founder Jess to learn more about her recent trip to Oktoberfest in Germany.
Why Bavaria?
It’s been on my bucket list to attend Oktoberfest for years and so, when we found cheap airline tickets, we made the decision to do a whirlwind long weekend trip to Germany and partake in one of the oldest folk festivals in the world. Since we were told one day of Oktoberfest was more than enough, we spent the rest of our trip driving around Bavaria and exploring castles and the German Alps.
Most Delicious meal or snack?
Does beer count? Of course it was a blast to raise a stein to some of the most classic German brew houses, but we also made it a point to dine on classic culinary specialties like schnitzel and dumplings. Our favorite culinary adventure was visiting Viktualienmarkt, Munich’s humongous 240,000 square foot outdoor market with stalls offering wines, gourmet treats, fresh bread and countryside veggies.
One must-do activity for anyone who makes the trip?
Hiking and taking in the beauty of the German alps and Bavarian countryside. We were able to leisurely walk around Lake Eibsee, traverse the Partnach gorge and experience the famous viewpoint of Neuschwanstein.
